Here is a hard to find hard cover cookbook from the UK circa 1960 titled... "In Defense of British Cooking 200 Wonderful Recipes that prove the English CAN cook" by Audrey Alley Gorton. The cookbook still has the dust jacket, but it does show some visible wear to the top and bottom edges of the DJ from use and re-shelving. Some faint stains along the the side edges from no doubt being in the kitchen. INSIDE the first blank page has an inscription from Christmas of 1975. Otherwise, the pages are at least 98% free of any marks, stains or writing.
Chapters include: Soups, Fish, Meat Pies, Joints & Roasts, Entrees & Galantines, Cold Sweets & Hot Puddings, Tarts & Flans, Scones & Cakes, Raised Buns & Breads, Picnic Fare, Drinks, A Bottle & a Bird. There are 129 pages including index.
