North Country Cabin Cooking
by Mary Brubacher and Margie Knoblauch
More than 300 quick and easy, sure to please recipes for your cabin kitchen.
The introduction says......”Going to the cabin” is a common phrase in the Upper Midwest. On weekends, and holidays, we “cabin people,” looking for a change of pace, flock to the North Country’s lakes and forests. Too often, however, we work just as hard cooking at the cabin as we do at home. We want to be proud of the food we serve, but we want to be “on vacation,” too.
The recipes we present here are intended to make time spent at the cabin enjoyable for everyone - including the cook. Many of these recipes can be made at home and taken to the cabin. Others are one-dish meals that can be prepared easily in the cabin kitchen. All are geared for the vacationer or weekend “cabin person.”
