Here's a find! A rare copy of the 1954 cookbook from the Junior Service League of Abilene TEXAS titled...
PARTY COOK BOOK
This hard cover book is in good condition for its age with some wear and kitchen soil to the covers and spine (since it's over 50 years old---see pics). INSIDE the pages show a little tanning to the pages from age, but not too bad. One page had the top tip of the page folded over a few times to mark a favorite recipe--and around that page there are some faded stains from a spill and splatter--but it made me want to try the recipe. The first blank page has an old dealer's price in pencil at the top of the page. Other than that, the pages are at least 97% free of any other marks or writing.
This hard cover cookbook measures 6 inches wide by just under 9 1/2 inches tall with 234 pages.
Chapters include: Appetizers and Sandwiches, Soups & Salads, Eggs--Cheese--Casseroles, Fish & Shell Fish, Meats-Poultry--Game, Spaghetti & Starches, Foreign Meals, Vegetables, Breads, Desserts, Menus. There's an average of 2-3 recipes per page.
