Here's a great quilting book titled... The Joy of Quilting (from "That Patchwork Place")
This hard cover book contains 270 pages of directions for beginning quilters on a very high quality paper. The book measures 8 1/2 inches wide by 11 inches tall and is in very lightly read condition with minimal wear to the covers from use and re-shelving. INSIDE the pages are at least 98% free of any marks or writing--I couldn't find anything.
The chapters are listed as Lessons and was written by Joan Hanson and Mary Hickey.
Lesson 1 in Gathering Tools, Supplies, and Fabrics and the book continues on step-by-step with everything you need to know to make a quilt. Very good instructions!

This handy volume is a near-must own for beginners and beginning intermediate quilter's. However, the instructions included must be approached with care. Unfortunately it is usually necessary to slightly adjust the instructions to complete the quilt properly (which may be difficult for real beginners). The half-square units quick-piecing method is a ridiculous waste of time and fabric. The quilt's included are great and I refer to my copy frequently for inspiration.
