On sale! How cool is this?! Here is a good copy of the hard to find hard cover book titled... Bull Cook and Authentic Historical Recipes Volume II
"Bull Cook and Authentic Historical Recipes and Practices - Volume II" is a hardcover book authored by George Leonard Herter and his wife Berthe E Herter. It was published by Herter's of Waseca, Minnesota in 1968 and THIS copy is a 2nd Edition (meant be be printing - see pics. There are 752 pages with many black and white photos.
The front and back covers and spine are in good shape with just a little chipping and some wear at the edges of the covers and spine here and there. INSIDE the pages are at least 99% free of any marks, stains or writing. A few pages show a small light crease from a hasty re-shelving, but very minor.
Herter's was a Waseca, Minnesota mail-order company that offered a complete line of fishing and hunting supplies, boots, clothing, etc. It went out of business in the 1970's.
In addition to being a useful cookbook, this is a fascinating history book. This is a great cookbook, very entertaining and funny to read. There are recipes for meats, fish and sea foods, eggs and cheese, main dishes, veggies, sandwiches, desserts, wine, beer and liquor in addition to menus and miscellaneous.
