Here is a great recipe collection titled.. The Nashville Cookbook Specialties of the Cumberland Region, This is a large, soft cover cookbook with a comb binding and is a 2nd Edition/12th Printing which is the Southern Living Hall of Fame Edition in 1994.
This cookbook is in good used condition with just a little wear to the front and back covers and edges from reading and re-shelving. INSIDE, the first page (the title page too) has a note at the top of the page a Christmas gift from 1997 and the name of the giver and recipient. Otherwise the pages are at least 98% free of any marks, stains or writing.
There are over 330 pages including index with an average of two recipes per page. The cookbook is sprinkled with history and great recipes!
Some of Nashville’s history is included in this cookbook in the form of illustrations and descriptions of the city’s historical landmarks and notable buildings. This community cookbook, subtitled “Specialties of the Cumberland Region,” was published to raise funds for historic restoration and preservation projects in the Nashville area. With recipes that include four kinds of apple cakes - made with apple sauce, fresh, raw and dried apples - to Chicken Souffle and Oven-fried Country Ham and Red-Eye Gravy. There is also a “Dietetic Section” that includes exchange and other information.
