Here's a great deal on a book that will give you fun wood projects!
PINE FURNITURE MAKING
This soft cover book is in glanced at condition with minimal wear from re-shelving and inside, the pages are 99% free of any marks or writing--I didn't see anything.
Written by Anthony Hontoir. Readily available and easy to work with, pine lends itself to many forms of furniture making, both traditional and modern, and enables the furniture maker to achieve excellent results at relatively small expense. In this practical manual, Anthony Hontoir explores the natural beauty and versatility of the wood by demonstrating how to make a variety of interesting and carefully chosen pieces.
Although pine is excellent for less experienced woodworkers to deal with (given its relative cheapness, mistakes aren't as costly as they would be for, say, oak or cherry), Hontoir aims his book at more experienced (read well-equipped) crafters. Don't, then, let the fact that this is a pine furnituremaking book lead you astray. There are lots of handsome projects, but you'll need a wide array of tools and experience with many woodworking techniques. Don't be put off by all the British terms in this import, either; it's actually a big plus that measurements are given in both metric and English units. A major drawback, however, is that Hontoir doesn't spend much time on finishing pine, a wood most notorious for presenting splotchy and uneven finishes. For the most part, a good woodworking book that will fit well in just about any collection.
