Here is a fun find for the opera buff --- a vintage book titled... OPERA GUYED. This is the 3rd printing from 1924 (first printing was 1923.) Published by Alfred A Knoff and illustrated by Rea Irvin,
This hard cover book measures 7¾" wide by 9¾" tall with just a little wear to the covers edges and tips from reading and storage. INSIDE there is a nice gift inscription on the first blank page, otherwise the pages are at least 99% free of any other marks, stains or writing. Just a little tanning to the edges of the pages from age. (See all the pictures!)
The story of 14 operas told in humorous verse. Operas that are mentioned include: Samson and Delilah, Das Rheingold, Tannhauser, Tosca, Carmen, Hamlet, Thais, Hansel and Gretel, Lohengrin, La Traviata, Die Walkure, Tristan and Isolda, Rigoletto, Pelleas and Melisande.
