If you are a fan of community cookbooks, here are two from Cape Cod that will be a treat to add to your collection.
First, CAPE COD KITCHEN SECRETS from the Monomoy Branch Cape Cod Hospital Aid Association. This is the 8th Edition from May of 1966 (with the 1st Edition published in 1949!)
This comb bound cookbook is in used, but good condition. The covers only show some wear, most at the edges from age, use and re-shelving. INSIDE the pages are at least 99% free of any marks, stains or writing. The cookbook has 116 pages with no index. There is a great section in the back of the book FILLED with ads from the neighborhood businesses. There is a faint “stored in the attic” scent to the book---NOT smoke.
Chapters include: Hors d’oeuvres, In Place of Soup, Soup, Fish, Cape Cod Clambake, Cape Cod Game, Poultry, Eggs, Meats & Sauces for Meats, Vegetables, Salads & Dressings, Desserts & Sweet Sauces, Frozen Desserts, Bread & Pastry, Cakes & Cookies, Relishes, and more! This recipe cookbook is filled with recipes written out by hand, typed out on an old typewriter and sprinkled with drawings.

This comb bound cookbook from 1987 is in used, but very good condition with minimal wear to the front and back covers from use and re-shelving. INSIDE the pages are at least 98% free of any marks, stains or writing.--I found a few recipes with faint notes in pencil around a recipe. The cookbook has 206 pages including index.
Chapters include: Appetizers, Beverages, Breads & Baked Goods, Desserts including Cakes & Pies, Cookies--Bars--Squares, Puddings & Desserts, Confections, Eggs--Cheese--Pasta & Rice, Fish & Shellfish, Meats & Poultry, Pickles & Preserves, Salads, Soups, Vegetables, Misc. There are an average of 3 recipes per page and sprinkled throughout the book are pictures, drawings and historical information about the area.
